Viewing Saved Passwords

Several browsers save your inserted password automatically. If you have forgotten your password, you can view it in your browser.

Prerequisite:

You have saved your mail.com password in your browser or Thunderbird.

If you have forgotten your mail.com password, you can view it in your browser or Thunderbird.

How to view saved passwords in Firefox

  1. Click the menu button and Options.
  2. Click Security and Saved Passwords....
    A list of saved passwords will appear.
  3. To narrow down the list, enter mail.com in the search field. Click the Show Passwords button and confirm by clicking Yes.
The password is shown. If you would like to change your current password, you can set a different one under My Account.

How to view saved passwords in Internet Explorer

Note:

These instructions only work with Windows 8. For older versions of Windows, you can only read saved passwords using third-party applications.

  1. Move the mouse to the upper right corner of the screen and click the magnifying glass icon. Enter Control Panel in the search field. Click the appropriate entry.
  2. Click User Accounts.
  3. Under Credential Manager, click Manage Web Credentials.
    A list of saved passwords will appear.
  4. To narrow down the list, enter mail.com in the search field. Click the appropriate entry and then Show. Enter your Windows user password and confirm by clicking OK.
The password is shown. If you would like to change your current password, you can set a different one under My Account.

How to view saved passwords in Chrome

  1. Click the menu button and Settings.
  2. At the very bottom, click Show advanced settings....
  3. In the Passwords and forms section, click Manage passwords.
    A list of saved passwords will appear.
  4. To narrow down the list, enter mail.com in the search field. Click the appropriate entry and then Show.
The password is shown. If you would like to change your current password, you can set a different one under My Account.

How to view saved passwords in Safari

  1. Click Safari and then Preferences....
  2. Switch to the Passwords tab.
    A list of saved passwords will appear.
  3. To narrow down the list, enter mail.com in the search field. Check the box next to Show passwords for selected websites. Enter your Mac user password and confirm by clicking OK.
The password is shown. If you would like to change your current password, you can set a different one under My Account.

How to view saved passwords in Thunderbird

  1. To open the options, press the Alt and T keys at the same time. Click Options.
  2. Switch to the Security tab and click Passwords. Click the Saved Passwords... button.
    A list of saved passwords will appear.
  3. To narrow down the list, enter mail.com in the search field. Click Show Passwords and confirm by clicking Yes.
