Automatic upload for photos and videos

The automatic upload synchronizes existing camera photos when the app is launched for the first time. After that, new camera photos will be synchronized when you take them. This means that the backup happens automatically in the background, even if your mail.com Cloud App for Android is not active.

Info:

To save your mobile data, we recommend synchronizing only when you are connected to Wi-Fi.

  1. Tap the menu symbol in the menu bar.
    The menu navigation appears.
  2. Tap the gearwheel icon.
  3. Tap General settings.
  4. Under General, tap Automatic upload for photos and videos.
  5. Turn on the automatic upload for photos and videos.
    Info:

If you are using the mail.com Cloud App for Android with multiple accounts, choose the account for which you want to activate the automatic upload.

  6. To choose the folders on your device that you want to synchronize, tap and choose the appropriate folders.

    Auto Synch

  7. Under Account for upload, check which account is used for backup and which folders are backed up.

  8. Under When to upload, choose if you want to backup only while charging and if you are on roaming.
    Info:

Roaming means that you are using a mobile data network in a foreign country, so costs for your mobile internet connection could be higher than normal.

    Auto Synch Settings

If you take pictures with your phone camera, they are synchronized with your Cloud. The uploaded photos can be found in the folder Camera uploads. The folder contains subfolders that are divided by months.
