Selecting and managing elements

Select one or more elements to carry out various actions.

How to mark an element as favourite

  1. In the mail.com Mail App for iOS, go to Files in the bottom navigation bar and tap the selection symbol in the upper right.
    All elements will receive a check box.
  2. Select one or more elements:
    • Tap the check box on the left of the element.
    • Tap Select all in the menu bar on the left.
    A symbol bar will appear at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap More in the symbol bar.
    A context menu will appear.
  4. To mark the selected elements as favourites, tap Mark as favorite.
    Info:

    If you mark a folder as a favourite, all elements within the folder will automatically be marked as favourites and labelled with a yellow star.

    The elements marked as favourites are labelled with a yellow star to the left of the file name.

How to copy an element

  1. In the mail.com Mail App for iOS, go to Files in the bottom navigation bar and tap the selection symbol in the upper right.
    All elements will receive a check box.
  2. Select one or more elements:
    • Tap the check box on the left of the element.
    • Tap Select all in the menu bar on the left.
    A symbol bar will appear at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap the copy symbol in the symbol bar.
    The copy window will appear.
  4. Specify the new location where you want the selected element to be copied:
    • Choose an existing folder by selecting it and tapping Confirm.
    • Create a new folder by tapping New folder in the symbol bar, selecting the new folder and then tapping Confirm.

How to move an element

  1. In the mail.com Mail App for iOS, go to Files in the bottom navigation bar and tap the selection symbol in the upper right.
    All elements will receive a check box.
  2. Select one or more elements:
    • Tap the check box on the left of the element.
    • Tap Select all in the menu bar on the left.
    A symbol bar will appear at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap the move symbol in the symbol bar.
    The move window will appear.
  4. Select the new location where you want the file to be moved to:
    • Choose an existing folder by selecting it and tapping Confirm.
    • Create a new folder by tapping New folder in the symbol bar, selecting the new folder and then tapping Confirm.

How to rename an element

  1. In the mail.com Mail App for iOS, go to Files in the bottom navigation bar and tap the selection symbol in the upper right.
    All elements will receive a check box.
  2. Select an element by tapping the check box on the left of the element.
    A symbol bar will appear at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap More in the symbol bar.
    A context menu will appear.
  4. Tap Rename file or Rename folder, depending on what you have selected.
    The rename window will appear.
  5. Enter a new name and confirm by tapping Done.

How to delete an element

  1. In the mail.com Mail App for iOS, go to Files in the bottom navigation bar and tap the selection symbol in the upper right.
    All elements will receive a check box.
  2. Select one or more elements:
    • Tap the check box on the left of the element.
    • Tap Select all in the menu bar on the left.
    A symbol bar will appear at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap the trash symbol in the symbol bar.
    1. If you want to delete a folder containing multiple elements, a message box will appear, which will require you to confirm your action with OK.
The elements will be moved to the trash folder and not irretrievably deleted. Elements in the trash folder can be restored to a different folder.
