Logging in with two-factor authentication

If you have activated two-factor authentication for your mail.com mailbox, you will be asked to log in with your password and a confirmation code.

Info:

The following description is an example of the login process with the FreeOTP authentication app. For more information on other authentication apps, please consult the provider's help pages: Selection of apps for two-factor authentication.

  1. Log in on the mail.com homepage with your email address and your password.
A page for entering the two-factor authentication confirmation code will open.
  2. Open your FreeOTP authentication app.
  3. Tap on the entry for mail.com, which you created by scanning the QR code during the two-factor authentication setup process.
The FreeOTP app generates a confirmation code and displays it.
    Info:

The generated code expires after a certain period of time. After this time has elapsed, FreeOTP automatically generates a new code that you can use if you were not able to enter the previously displayed code on time.

  4. Enter the code that is displayed by your FreeOTP authentication app.
  5. Click on Continue.
You have successfully logged in.
