Problems with scanning the QR code

If you have problems scanning the QR code when setting up two-factor authentication, you can instead request a code that you will then have to enter in your authentication app in lieu of the QR code.

Setting up two-factor authentication on your smartphone

If you are setting up two-factor authentication on your smartphone and using it to display the QR code, you cannot simultaneously scan the code with the authentication app.

  1. Under the QR code, tap on Copy code.
  2. Paste the code into your authentication app.

  2. To copy the code from your computer (from the clipboard) to your smartphone, send yourself a message—such as an e-mail, SMS, or WhatsApp message—in which you paste the code.
  3. Right-click on the message/text field and click on Paste or press Ctrl+V.
  4. Send the code to yourself.
  5. Copy the code from the message by selecting it and tapping Copy.
  6. Paste the code into your authentication app by tapping on the text field in the app and then tapping Paste.
