I forgot my mail.com password. What should I do?

Forgot your password? No problem! mail.com offers you several options to reset your old password and create a new one. This way you can easily recover your account.

In most cases you can reset your password yourself without contacting customer support.

  1. Go to the page https://password.mail.com.
  2. Enter your mail.com email address, tick the reCAPTCHA box and click Continue.
  3. Select one of the options.
The following options are available to recover or change your password:
Via an alternative email address

If you have saved a secondary contact email address in your mail.com settings and it’s still valid, click Send to receive a password reset code at this address.

Via text message or SMS

If you have saved a contact mobile phone number in your mail.com settings and it's still valid, click Send and a text message with a password reset code will be sent to this number.

Info:

You will only see these options if you have saved an alternative email address and/or mobile phone number.

Find your saved password in web browser

In some cases, you can view your password if you have it saved in your web browser. For detailed instructions, see Viewing Saved Passwords.

None of the above

If you have not saved your contact information in your account settings or the information saved is no longer valid, a password recovery code cannot be sent automatically. Please click None of the above and follow the instructions.
