Configuring the Mail Collector

Using the Mail Collector will import email of your old mailbox into your mail.com mailbox. If you notice a configuration mistake, you can correct it afterwards.

You may need to enable POP3/IMAP retrieval for the service you want to import emails from.

For Google mailboxes: If you want to set up a Mail Collector for a Google mailbox, you have to activate Two-Step Verification in your Google Account settings and set up an App Password for the Mail Collector.

How to create a Mail Collector

  1. Click on Settings.
  2. Select Mail Collector.
  3. Enter the email address and the associated password.
  4. Select the appropriate options:
    • If the email should be deleted from the other mailbox after they are retrieved
    • If the retrieved email should be saved in a separate folder
  5. Click on Save.

    The message "Your settings have been successfully saved." will appear. In this case, the Mail Collector has been created successfully.

    Additional input fields appear. In this case, more information is needed to create the Mail Collector, e.g. if you have your own email domain. Proceed to step 6.

  6. Enter the server, port and user name.
  7. Click on Save.

How to edit an existing Mail Collector mailbox

  1. Click on Settings.
  2. Select Mail Collector.
  3. Move your mouse over the appropriate Mail Collector address and click the wrench icon.
  4. Change the relevant data and click Save.

How to delete a Mail Collector mailbox

  1. Click on Settings.
  2. Select Mail Collector.
  3. Move your mouse over the appropriate Mail Collector address and click the delete icon.
