Restore access to account with verification code

If there has been irregular activity in your mail.com account, you can request a verification code be sent by text message to your saved mobile number that will allow you to reset your password.

To verify your identity as the registered user of the mail.com account, we will text a six-digit code to your mobile phone. After entering this code, you will be able to change your mail.com password and protect the security of your account.
  1. In the Verify your identity window, click Request code.

    If you notice that the first and last digits displayed do not match your mobile phone number, please contact our customer service. For contact information, please see our contact page.




  2. Next, check your phone for the text message with the verification code and enter the six-digit number you receive (a).

    Make sure that your mobile phone is switched on and is not in airplane mode, that the SIM card is unlocked, and you have cellular network coverage. If you still have not received a text message, please click Resend code to repeat the sending process.

    Click Confirm code (b) to confirm your entry.
  3. In the Change your password window, enter your new password in the Enter a new password field (a). Then re-type it in the Re-type new password field (b).

    Your new password should be at least 8 characters long. It is best to use a sentence or a mix of letters, numbers and symbols. For more information on selecting a secure password, please see our Help page.

    Confirm your new password by clicking Change password (c).

You have successfully changed your password. Click Continue to inbox to go directly to your mail.com email inbox.
