Adding Files

You have to upload your files if you want to share them with your friends or family. You can upload files using drag & drop or select them by clicking through folders.

If you want to upload files using drag & drop, you will need a browser that supports HTML 5. For example, the Firefox browser supports this technology: Download Firefox browser

You can upload files or whole folders (including subfolders) to your Cloud.

Uploading files

  1. In the upper left corner, click Upload.
  2. If you want to upload files, click Upload files.

  3. Select the files you want to upload.
  4. Confirm your selection with Open.

  5. If the upload is completed, click Close.
    The files were added to your Cloud.
Uploading folders

  1. In the upper left corner, click Upload.
  2. If you want to upload a whole folder (including subfolders), click Upload folder.

  4. Confirm your selection with Upload.

    The files were added to your Cloud.
Uploading files from smartphone

If you use the mail.com Cloud on your desktop or laptop computer, you can upload files directly from your smartphone to the mail.com Cloud. This involves connecting your smartphone to your mail.com Cloud using a QR code.

  1. Click Upload in the top left menu.
  2. Click Upload from smartphone.

  3. Use your smartphone to scan the QR code. To do this, open either the pre-installed camera app of your smartphone or a dedicated QR code app and hold the smartphone as if you wanted to take a photo of the QR code displayed on your computer screen.
  4. Tap on the mail.com link that appears in the camera app or QR code app immediately after you scan the QR code.

    If you have the mail.com Mail App installed, you might need to tap on the mail.com link again in another window so that the link opens in the browser on your smartphone.

    On your smartphone, the mail.com Cloud login page opens in the browser.
  5. Enter the password that is displayed on your computer screen below the QR code and then tap on Verify password.
  6. Tap Select file and select the files stored on your smartphone that you want to upload to your mail.com Cloud.
The selected files will be added to your mail.com Cloud.

It’s even easier to upload files from your smartphone to the mail.com Cloud by installing the mail.com Mail App for Android or mail.com Mail App for iOS on your smartphone.
