Setting Up Thunderbird

Synchronize your mail.com mailbox with Thunderbird. Your email will be sent to your application in regularly intervals using IMAP.

How to add your email account

Requirements: IMAP is only available to mail.com Premium customers.
  1. Click Email.

  2. Click on Skip this and use my existing email.

  3. Enter your name, email address and password. Check Remember passwordand click Continue.

    Thunderbird automatically detects the correct server settings.
  4. Select IMAP and click Done.

  5. To synchronize your email and folders, click Get Mail.

Thunderbird synchronizes with your mail.com mailbox.

How to link your folders

  1. Right-click on your mail.com account (a) and click on Settings... (b). Click on Server Settings (c) .
  2. In Server Settings, specify that messages to be deleted are moved to theTrash folder (d)
  3. ClickCopies & Folders (a). Select the Other: option below When sending messages, automatically. Select your mail.com Sent folder (b). Select the Other: option below Drafts. Select your mail.com Drafts folder (c). There is no corresponding folder in your mail.com mailbox for the Thunderbird Templates folder. Click OK (d).

Thunderbird will file the email in the respective folders.
